Ladies and gentlemen,

It is truly an honor to introduce a living legend in the field of fraud detection and prevention, Mr. Frank Abagnale. Born in 1948, Frank's remarkable life story began when he successfully assumed various identities and perpetrated cons as a masterful imposter in the 1960s. His exploits were so extraordinary that they became the inspiration for the renowned film "Catch Me If You Can."

After serving time for his crimes, Frank transformed his life by dedicating it to helping law enforcement agencies combat fraud and identity theft. Today, he stands as a beacon of knowledge and expertise in the fight against financial crimes. His insights, drawn from personal experience, have proven invaluable in shaping the strategies employed by the FBI and other agencies worldwide.

In October 2023, Frank Abagnale was bestowed with a prestigious honor, becoming an honorary member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This recognition underscores the immense respect and gratitude the FBI holds for his contributions to the field. Frank's commitment to turning his past challenges into opportunities for learning and growth serves as a powerful example for all of us in the pursuit of justice.

It's worth noting that Mr. Abagnale's dedication extends beyond his honorary status. He selflessly accepts no payment for his training of FBI agents, emphasizing his commitment to fostering a new generation of experts in combating financial crimes.

In addition to his training efforts, Frank Abagnale is also an acclaimed author, having penned the book "Scam Me If You Can." Through this work, he shares invaluable insights and practical advice on how individuals and organizations can protect themselves from scams and fraudulent activities.

Without further ado, let us welcome the man who has not only outsmarted the best in the business but has also become one of its greatest allies – Mr. Frank Abagnale.

Subject: Thank You

Mrs. Abagnale,

I wanted to take the time to thank Mr. Abagnale for speaking to the NLSSA on Thursday, September 28th, 2023. I must admit I had never heard of Frank Abagnale Jr. until I heard him speak years ago at the Citadel on white-collar crime, which was a class sponsored by the FBI. I found that class to be fantastic and informative both personally and professionally. I have never heard a lecture on the subject that I found more informative than Mr. Abagnale’s one-hour session. This year’s class on cybersecurity lived up to or surpassed every expectation of what I believed the lecture would be.

While speaking to Mr. Abagnale before the meeting, he mentioned you were his wife and handle all his booking with Law Enforcement. I also want to thank you for sharing him with all of us. While I am not a fan of Mr. Abagnale’s past, I find what he has done with his life to be inspirational and admirable. Speaking to Mr. Abagnale prior to his lecture, I found him to be kind, genuine, and relatable. I also offered that any time you or any of your family - kids, grandkids, friends, etc… would like to visit the statehouse, please let me know. One of my guys or I would be more than happy to show anyone around and take them on a special tour of the capital. Mr. Abagnale doesn’t have to accompany any of the guests that you would like to offer this to but is certainly welcomed to join. I offer this to your family because of the commitment and sacrifice you have made to improve the security of the country, through educating the front lines on what to look for and how to fight it.

Thank you again for your service to the country and please keep my contact information if you would ever like to take me up on my offer.

Sincerely,

Richard Webb

Dear Frank,

I posted this on LinkedIn yesterday with hashtags for groups comprised of about 140,000 event planners. It's received hundreds of “likes” (and growing), and comments such as this from Commander Kirk Lippold (USN Ret.): “Frank Abagnale is a true national treasure who continues to give back to our great country.”

Best,

Warren

Frank Abagnale is an extraordinary human being, brilliant, compassionate, honorable and a past master at his craft. The word genius is overused, but here it applies.

I am passing along to you a very special note of thanks and gratitude for all you have done over the years to give back to the FBI. In addition to all of the time you have invested with us, you have also given us something we both would agree is far more valuable and no doubt a great source of pride, and that would be your very own FBI Agent son. You are among the chosen few whom my service is able to call a true friend and colleague. Good luck to you and God bless in the years ahead.

Dear Mr. Abagnale,

What a remarkable night you gave us at the FBI Citizens Academy talk Monday evening. We learned a great deal to share with friends and family regarding security, neglect and unnecessary breaches, and particularly the importance of teaching morality. That is something we expect and take for granted. Particularly with the age of internet, if not caught, it's all too easy to manipulate to your ends with no one watching.

The gift of your knowledge to the thousands you speak to these vast years is making a difference. Your experience as a desperate young man, intelligent, successful and driven, lends credence and attention to everything you're telling us. That coupled with your determination to tighten security for our country and ourselves is most admirable. We will do all we can to join your cause.

I sincerely hope that you are enjoying this wonderful work you have chosen. There is no one like you and we all appreciate what you continue to bring to us and our nation.

Good luck and good health!

Mr. Abagnale,

I recently worked an event where you spoke and was fortunate enough to be able to listen to nearly the entire speech. I was truly moved by your words. In a world where criminality is glorified by Gangster Rap and Mafia/Heist/Criminal movies, it was inspirational to hear the accountability you take for illegal acts that you committed over 30 years ago. When you said "I have been offered 3 pardons from 3 different standing Presidents and I refused them all because I do not believe that a piece of paper excuses what I did." it made my heart sing.

Even more inspiring was your attitude towards what makes a man. Again, in an age where everyone is so concerned with their achievements, their wealth, and their status, you understand that the greatest thing a man could ever do is love his family and his country. I found this so inspirational that I have been waking up an hour earlier every day to spend more time with my wife and son, who turns 6 months next week.

I wanted to thank you for being honest and humble. I also want you to know that even though you do not feel you will ever repay your debt, I believe that you have. By holding yourself accountable, speaking from the heart, loving your wife and children continuously throughout their lives, and continuing to serve your country for 25 years beyond your "obligation". Furthermore, you continue to open your life and your heart to those who hear your message and inspire them to love their country and their families. In my eyes, you have done more than any man could hope to achieve, and then some.

Thank you, Mr. Abagnale. I will keep you and your family in my heart for as long as it beats.
